Ever since graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2017 and over the course of my career, I have noticed the power of data and how it impacts business decisions. Seeing executives of companies in awe, mumble, or simply groan over a chart of calculated data sets brought me a twisted emotion of happiness. I would see people 20+ years older than me, change their million dollar decisions based on a presentation it took me an hour to do. When this happened a third time, I knew I wanted to shift from Data Analytics to Product Management. I would finally have the chance of simply signing off on the decision of what the company's direction would become...or so I thought.
